Ham Yard Hotel, London, UK

Our favourite boutique hoteliers Tim and Kit Kemp's Firmdale Hotels will open Ham Yard Hotel, in Soho in May. This will be their eighth London property, not to mention that little something in New York .

This hotel looks set to have a real urban village feel; with a court yard garden/pedestrian area shaded by craned-in fully grown oak trees. 'Soho itself is always very grey, so to be able to put five large oak trees in the centre of somewhere, it's really nice,' says Kit Kemp. Lounging Londoners will be watched over by a giant bronze sculpture by Tony Cragg. The hotel's 90 individually designed bedrooms and suites with all have usual Kemp colour.  But there's more. This is an ambitious project for Firmdale Hotels. The building will also have will 24 residential apartments, a 176 seat theatre with stage, green rooms and VIP balcony, which sits alongside a comprehensive private event floor. Underneath the hotel there will be 13 specialist retail stores and next door, an imported 1950s Texan four-lane bowling alley with bar, lounge and dance floor. 'I've never been to a bowling alley that I wanted to stay at for more than five minutes, so that's going to be a real challenge', says Kemp. Hotel guests will also have access to an organic rooftop garden with views of the London skyline and the Soholistic Spa and Gym.

We predict Ham Yard will soon be London's newest hip hangout.

Also on the Luxe radar in London: The Mondrian London, Shangri-La at The Shard London,  The Beaumont, 10 Trinity Square, Citizen M
